View Video Immigration Roundtable Backburner issue — October 23, 2009

This week's main topic is the lack of comprehensive immigration reform which many organizations across the country had been hoping would have been approved by now. What appeared to be the top topic of conversation just a couple of years ago has take a back seat to health care reform, the economy, Iraq and Afghanistan, and other issues.

Rev. Gene Lefebvre and Melanie Nelson

Tony Paniagua and Roundtable panel are joined by activist and volunteer Rev. Gene Lefebvre, one of the co-founders of No More Deaths. He helps put out water in the desert to help people who cross the border illegally and is one of the people who is facing charges for littering on the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge.

The other guest is Melanie Nelson, a leader with the Pima County Interfaith Council. She'll tell us about some of the legislative changes her group and others want to see.
