The Mercado District of Menlo Park is a new community being built on Congress west of downtown Tucson and I-10. It's slated to have about 100 houses and four commercial zones incorporating European and Latin American influences. Builders say this will be unique "new urbanist" neighborhood with green construction methods alsong with color, character and culture where people will be able to walk to most of their destinations or use public transportation.
