Dirty Needles
Recycling employees injured — April 8, 2008
Recycling facility employees have been injured by needles that were placed with other recyclables delivered by the City of Tucson and Pima County waste haulers.
Employees are at risk of developing infections from viruses such as HIV and Hepatitis. Now City and County are urging people to dispose of needles safely in the trash not in recyclables.
