View Video Large Binocular Telescope Most powerful telescope in the world — March 10, 2008

Science reporter Pam White reports on the completion of the most powerful telescope in the world, the Large Binocular Telescope or LBT. The 120 million dollar project was a collaboration between both U.S. and European institutions and took 20 years to build. It sits atop Mt. Graham near Safford, Arizona. The telescope's twin mirrors make it more powerful than any telescope on land or off.
