Despite the controversy over Arizona's new immigration law, hundreds of scholars representing Native Americans from across North America are meeting in Tucson to discuss the future of American Indian studies in this country. Robert Warrior, PhD, President of NAISA says the association is at a critical juncture in light of the tight money situation on college campus across the country. Representing the University of Arizona is K.Tsianina Lomawaima, PhD, writer and professor of American Indian Studies.
The Native American and Indigenous Scholars Association conference is hosted by the University of Arizona's American Indian Studies Program.
